Society of the IFNS
The
Italian Society of Nematology was established in 1978. The
Society's aim is to promote studies, research, conferences
and any activities useful to increasing the knowledge of
soil, fresh water and plant nematodes, to enhance relationships
among nematologists and to keep contacts with other societies
which have similar aims. Presently the Society has 90 members.
The Executive Council consists of: A. Colombo, N. Greco,
D. Di Silvestro, L. Ambrogioni, G. Curto, T. D'Addabbo,
and F. Moretti.

Events
This year the IX Congress of SIN will be held from November
22-24 2007 in Florence, Italy. Contact: Aurelio Ciancio,

Last year a meeting on vineyard nurseries was held at San
Michele All'Adige (Bolzano) from 9-10 October 2006.
Publications
The Society does not have a journal or newsletter. Nematologia
Mediterranea is independent from the Society even though
it sometimes hosts the Society Conference Proceedings. Nicola
Greco and Ken Evans are the co-editors of the journal.
Subscriptions
The Society Annual Membership fee is 15 Euros. The application
can be addressed to the Secretary-Treasurer (Aurelio
Ciancio) and must be accepted by the Governing Board.
